A Message from the Director
Message from the Director:
The Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania Teacher Education Program has recently achieved national recognition for earning NCATE/CAEP accreditation. Both the initial preparation and the advanced preparation programs have been recognized.
As per the letter received from Christopher Koch, president of the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), LHU faculty and staff deserve “special congratulations” because the commission “cited no areas of improvement relative to the standards.”
What does national accreditation mean?
In order to become accredited, an institution must meet rigorous standards. These standards prove that the education programs being offered are of the highest quality. The LHU Teacher Education Program has a long-standing history of accreditation. We are pleased to continue this important tradition.
I am honored to represent the teacher education faculty here at Lock Haven University. As a student in any of the teacher education programs, please know that you are being taught and mentored by a dedicated, hard-working, and professional group of faculty members.
Professionally,
Dr. Denise Tyson
Director of Teacher Education
Lock Haven University
