Commonwealth University, Featured, integration, general July 1, 2022
After more than 18 months of work by nearly 1,000 individuals, the integration of Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, and Mansfield universities under the banner of Commonwealth University officially took place on Friday, July 1.

Workforce Development at Lock Haven University is accepting applications for an upcoming phlebotomy technician program. Learners can choose to take the program at either the main or Clearfield campus.

As a non-traditional student in Lock Haven's social work program at the Clearfield campus, Sarah Casher has lot going on in her life. Casher is a married mother of two with a full-time job and also is a part-time enlisted personnel in the Pennsylvania National Guard. She was also named the recipient of the William and Twila Sote Memorial Scholarship, the Robert F. Johnson Scholarship, the Paula Bell ROTC Scholarship, and the Donn and Mary Ann Zaffuto Wagner Academic Scholarship for the 2022-23 academic year.

A baseball player may wait decades to be part of a team that wins the World Series. For Jacob Padelski, a 2017 Lock Haven graduate, his wait was a lot shorter. Hired by the Houston Astros in August 2021 as an account executive, Padelski became a World Series Champion when the Astros defeated the Philadelphia Phillies to win 2022 World Series crown.

George Way, a 1978 Lock Haven State College (LHSC) graduate, enjoyed a rewarding career that spanned more than three decades as a teacher, coach, and principal. Now retired, he continues his passion for impacting students as an elected volunteer board member with the Lock Haven University (LHU) Alumni Association and a member of the board's legacy committee.
