Two books by Lock Haven University professors recently been republished. "A Crossing of Zebras: Animal Packs in Poetry," illustrated by art professor Philip Huber and written by English professor Marjorie Maddox, originally published in 2009, is an animal book about collective nouns.

Kayla Shutters, a secondary English major at Lock Haven University, presented "A Pedagogical Focus of Angie Thomas' 'The Hate U Give' " at the 2019 Pennsylvania Council of Teachers of English and Language Arts (PCTELA) conference on Oct. 12 in State College.

As part of Lock Haven University's Pennsylvania Authors Reading Series, best-selling novelist, short story writer and essayist, Susan Perabo, will give a reading and sign books at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6 in the Parsons Union Building multipurpose room.

The Lock Haven University departments of English and philosophy and of history, political science, international studies and foreign languages will welcome guest speaker Dr. Mark Sachleben to speak on "Brexit? Causes, Reactions and Implications from British and European Perspectives," at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 24 in the Willis Health Professions Building, room 105, Greenburg Auditorium, on the campus of LHU.
