Commonwealth University-Lock Haven English professor, Tracey Cummings, recently participated in the National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Institute, "Transcendentalism and Social Reform: Activism and Community Engagement in the Age of Thoreau." The two-week program was held earlier this summer in Concord, Massachusetts.

Kateryn "Kat" Allen, secondary education English major at Lock Haven University, earned a role in "Drag Through Seasons," a musical comedy show featured recently at the Church Off Main, 509 E. Main Street.

Lock Haven University English faculty member, Marjorie Maddox Hafer (pen name Marjorie Maddox) published two new books in March and has an additional collection slated for 2023.

The National Council of English Teachers (NCET) has deemed "I'm Feeling Blue, Too!" one of 25 Notable Poetry Books for 2021. The children's book, written by Lock Haven University English professor Marjorie Maddox and illustrated by LHU art professor emeritus Philip Huber, was published in August 2020 by Wipf and Stock.
