Studying French at LHU isn’t just about the core curriculum. The University boasts active French clubs, as well as a French & Francophone film series. Advanced courses explore such topics as linguistics, French and Francophone literatures, cultures, and films. Topics covered include:
- French Civilization
- Advanced French Grammar
- French Cinema

Studying Spanish at LHU will give you the opportunity to become immersed in Spanish culture. The University offers active Spanish clubs, as well as a Spanish & Hispanic Film Series. Advanced courses explore such topics as linguistics, Spanish and Hispanic literatures, cultures, and films. Topics covered include:
- Culture of Spain
- Hispanic American Culture
- Advanced Conversations through Hispanic Film

- Interdisciplinary Versatility: A foreign language major or minor at LHU can be combined with any other major in preparation for a multitude of different careers. The most popular pairings are:

- Study Abroad: All students in the major must study abroad, either a full-semester or a summer immersion program. If you study during the academic year at one of LHU's partner institutions, you will pay the same tuition as LHU tuition, and your credits automatically transfer. A number of study abroad programs offer the opportunity to learn other languages. Recent examples include:

- Portuguese
