Continuing a proud tradition that began with the founding of the Central State Normal
School in 1870, LHU's PreK-Grade 8 Education & Professional Studies focuses on providing
excellence in educator preparation.
All programs are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation
(CAEP) and all certification programs are approved by the Pennsylvania Department
of Education. Students have the benefit of working with highly qualified and experienced
professors in the classroom and combine the classroom experience with observation,
field experiences, and student teaching experiences.
In addition to the major programs there are a number of specialty areas, minors, and
dual degree combinations within graduate and undergraduate programs.
