Newly-elected LHU Alumni Association Vice President Amee Lewis Vance ‘75 is in her third year on the Alumni Association Board of Directors. During that time, she has volunteered countless hours along with financial support to help the LHU Advancement Office and LHU students “soar higher.”

Along with serving as chair of the Alumni Association’s Relationships Committee, she also serves on a committee of eight Zeta Tau Alpha sorority alumni responsible for fundraising $5,000 for a bench dedication on campus during Homecoming 2019 to honor 18 deceased ZTA alumni. The committee also established the Zeta Nu Scholarship of Zeta Tau Alpha, which awards $500 annually to a student who is also a sister of ZTA. The committee is intent on raising an additional $5,000 to get their scholarship endowed.

Lewis-Vance has worked diligently to get ZTA alumni from the past five decades reconnected with LHU. She organized the ZTA of the 70s Alumni Weekend in which more than 70 alumni registered to attend before it was cancelled over concerns from COVID-19. Even though the event was cancelled, she was still able to raise over $1,000 to go toward the ZTA scholarship. Her continued outreach has helped the Advancement Office update its database to include almost 600 living ZTA alumni.

As chair of the Alumni Association’s Relationships Committee, she also plays a major role in helping the Advancement Office execute successful alumni events. During her time on the board, she has made more than 1,500 phone calls to alumni from Pennsylvania to Florida and beyond, providing them university updates, inviting them to events and alumni social media pages and gathering updated contact information for the alumni database.

Amee is a retired early childhood educator. She credits LHU with preparing her for an amazing career and giving her the best friends in her life, including her husband Ron who graduated with her in 1975. She is honored to spend so much of her retirement giving back to Lock Haven University.
