Graduate Assistantships at Lock Haven University provide students with a variety of
opportunities for scholarly and professional development designed first and foremost
to reinforce and enhance their scholarly pursuits, while providing financial assistance
for students in attaining their educational goals. Graduate Assistantships give students
an opportunity to gain practical experience in teaching, research, academic or administrative
service under the guidance of a faculty or staff member.
Graduate Assistantships are integral to the students program of study and to the transformation
of a student into a professional scholar. They also advance the University mission
to recruit highly qualified students to our graduate programs in greater numbers.
Minimum Student Qualifications for Graduate Assistantship:
Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0* and admission to a Commonwealth University graduate
program.
Stipend and Tuition Waiver:
Full-time: Stipend $6,150 /semester fall and spring Tuition Remission for 6 credits/semester fall and spring GA assignment 20 hrs/week
Part-time: Stipend $3,075 /semester fall and spring Tuition remission for 6 credits/semester fall and spring GA assignment 10 hours/ week for the fall and spring
Summer: Stipend $1,230 for 10 week summer session Tuition remission is for 6 credits GA assignment 10 hrs/week (applies ONLY to graduate assistants with work assignments in the 10-week summer
session).
