LHU faculty member publishes 2 new books in March, plans launch events
Lock Haven University English faculty member, Marjorie Maddox Hafer (pen name Marjorie
Maddox) published two new books in March and has an additional collection slated for
2023.
"Heart Speaks, Is Spoken For," a collaboration with photographer Karen Elias, of Lock Haven, was released from Shanti Arts Publishing on World Poetry Day, March 21 and "Begin With A Question," from Paraclete Press, on March 22.
Shanti Arts recently accepted a 2023 publication date for Maddox's "In The Museum Of My Daughter's Mind." The book is a collection of poetic responses to 16 paintings by her daughter and artist, Anna Lee Hafer, as well as work by photographer Karen Elias and renowned artists Greg Mort, Margaret Munz-Losch, Antar Mikosz, Ingo Swann and Christian Twamley. Color images of artwork will be included.

- April 22-24, Poetry Retreat Leader, Bethany Retreat Center, Frenchville
- 7 p.m., May 6, Ragged Coffeehouse Reading Series, Gettysburg
- 6:30 p.m., May 19, Annie Hallenbake Ross Library, 232 W. Main St., Lock Haven
The April 1 event will include a book signing with the author and photographer. The May 19 event will include a reading, discussion and a book signing.
