It is a great pleasure to welcome the entire Lock Haven University community to the
start of the 2019-2020 academic year. To those new colleagues who are joining us,
we all offer our warmest greetings. The start of every academic year is a new beginning
that offers endless possibilities for creativity, learning, and exploration. It is
through working together that we provide our students with the educational experience
for both personal and professional growth.
Below you will find a brief description of development and community-building activities
and events for faculty, staff, and students during the week of August 19-25. Detailed
calendars may be accessed at the links to the right. Faculty and staff at the Clearfield
Campus will be notified which sessions are accessible via Zoom, ITV, or webcast; some
other sessions will be brought to Clearfield Campus on a schedule to be determined.
For planning purposes, we are asking you to register for some of the activities; you
may use the link on the right to register for the events that you plan to attend.
We are not asking you to register for larger sessions such as the President’s Opening
Meeting, the College faculty meetings, Convocation (except to process).
WELCOME WEEK SCHEDULE FOR STUDENTS This will help you be prepared to respond to questions about student sessions that
you may get from new students or their families.
NEW FACULTY ORIENTATION New Faculty Orientation will take place from Monday, August 19ththrough Tuesday, August 20th. All new faculty are expected to attend, and the orientation is geared to providing
all new faculty with essential information needed for the start of the Fall 2019 semester.
FACULTY AND STAFF EVENTS A diverse array of development and informational sessions have been scheduled over
the week. You are encouraged to attend as many as your schedule permits.
