Requirements, Forms, and Information for Teacher Education Students

 

 

Due Dates for fall 2020: TBA

Candidacy Application: Due Date: When all Candidacy requirements have been completed. (Candidacy is the official acceptance of students into a teacher certification program, thus allowing the candidate to take selected advanced courses in his/her major leading to teacher certification.)  Note: Candidacy applications will not be processed second week of June through second week of August (Please plan accordingly).

The Following applications are Due:  TBA 
Developing Portfolio Application:
 Teacher Education candidates, who plan to register for spring 2021 Professional Semester (Block) must present their Developing Portfolio to their program coordinator in fall 2020.

Professional Semester Application for Spring 2021 (Block) : Teacher Education Candidates must have a 3.0 GPA overall and all Developing Portfolio requirements met in order to be eligible for the professional semester. Professional Semester applicants must have current clearances and negative TB Test.  In addition, must submit evidence of liability insurance (also required for student teaching) by first day of Block.

 

ATTENTION DUE DATES FOR STUDENTS PLANNING TO STUDENT TEACH Spring 2021 and Fall 2021

  • Student teaching application completed electronically (application can be found under forms and requirements on the LHU student teaching website https://lockhaven.edu/studentteaching/ ). Questions regarding the student teaching application can be directed to Dr. Amy Long, Robinson 608, ael01@lockhaven.edu
  • All clearances to Mrs. Raudabaugh

     

     

    Due date: TBA

    • Recorded scores, admission ticket or appointment confirmation for Praxis or Pearson Specialty tests to Mrs. Blesh. (ALL certification areas being sought, verifying that the test(s) will be or have been taken prior to student teaching.)  DO NOT Register for Test(s) on  TBA due to attending the Mandatory Student Teaching Placement Meeting.
    • Proof of 2020-2021 liability insurance to Mrs. Blesh.  Most students join Student PSEA  https://www.psea.org/resources-by-profession/student-psea/

    Due date: TBA

    • Mandatory   Student Teaching Placement Meeting, Hamblin Hall of Flags
    ETS Praxis and Pearson Specialty Exams required by program must be passed prior to applying for certification; Pennsylvania certification requirements also include a 3.0 GPA.
