The Lock Haven University Psychology Department offers two programs, leading to a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology or a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. We also offer two minors—one in Psychology and one in Leadership.

Psychology is a data-based scientific study of development, behavior, and mental processes. All students, regardless of major will benefit from the foundation in critical thinking; the scientific method; and developmental, behavioral and mental processes that introductory courses provide.

Psychology is a broad field, encompassing theoretical, experimental, and applied areas. Our majors will enjoy a quality program that exposes them to many of the subfields of psychology. Our program intentionally provides a broad education, introducing students to as many areas of psychology as possible.

Psychology is a field that provides a wealth of opportunities, both immediately upon graduation and after advanced educational training. Our students are prepared to take the next step in their career paths, whether by obtaining a job or beginning graduate study.

A Psychology education sets the stage for lifelong learning, providing students with vital skills and a curiosity about the world.
