Interpreting Your Results

 For the Math Placement Test

The results of the test are given as four numbers in four different categories, one for each section of the placement test. Which mathematics course you take should be dependent on your major, so if you are given many options it does not mean that you need to take all of those courses. You should choose the course most appropriate for you major. The scores are interpreted as follows:

If your score in Category 1 is less than 9 Math009: Basic Algebra
If your score in Category 2 is less than 9

Math100: Essentials of Algebra
Math101: Topics in Mathematics
Math110: Consumer Mathematics

If your scores in Categories 1 and 2 are both greater than or equal to 9 Math101: Topics in Mathematics
Math102: Number Systems
Math107: Basic Statistics I
Math110: Consumer Mathematics
Math112: Intermediate Algebra
Math115: Statistics and Geometry
If your scores in Categories 1, 2, and 3 are all greater than or equal to 9 Math101: Topics in Mathematics
Math102: Number Systems
Math107: Basic Statistics I
Math110: Consumer Mathematics
Math112: Intermediate Algebra
Math113: Precalculus
Math115: Statistics and Geometry
Math180: Math for Management
