# Interpreting Your Results

For the Math Placement Test

The results of the test are given as four numbers in four different categories, one for each section of the placement test. Which mathematics course you take should be dependent on your major, so if you are given many options it does not mean that you need to take all of those courses. You should choose the course most appropriate for you major. The scores are interpreted as follows:

test categories | eligible courses |

If your score in Category 1 is less than 9 | Math009: Basic Algebra |

If your score in Category 2 is less than 9 |
Math100: Essentials of Algebra |

If your scores in Categories 1 and 2 are both greater than or equal to 9 | Math101: Topics in Mathematics Math102: Number Systems Math107: Basic Statistics I Math110: Consumer Mathematics Math112: Intermediate Algebra Math115: Statistics and Geometry |
