Pennsylvania Authors Reading Series hosts visiting author David Lloyd

The Lock Haven University English department will host its first visiting author for the fall 2019 Pennsylvania Authors Reading Series, David Lloyd, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25 in the Parsons Union Building (PUB) Multipurpose Room on the campus of LHU.


Lloyd is a fiction writer, novelist and poet. He is the author of 10 books, including his new story collection, “The Moving of the Water” (2018); “Over the Line,” a novel (2013); and “Boys: Stories and a Novella” (2004). He has published three poetry collections: “Warriors” (2012), “The Gospel According to Frank” (2009) and “The Everyday Apocalypse” (2002). 

In 2000, Lloyd received the Poetry Society of America’s Robert H. Winner Memorial Award and in 2001 he was a Fulbright Distinguished Scholar at Bangor University (Wales, UK). He also received a Fulbright Scholar Award for residence at Cardiff University (Wales, UK) for 2020.

His poems and stories have appeared in numerous journals including Crab Orchard Review, Denver Quarterly and Virginia Quarterly Review. He also directs the creative writing program at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York.

The event is free and open to the public and will include a book signing is sponsored by LHU’s English department and the College of Liberal Arts and Education.
