Sieg Conference Center was donated to Lock Haven University in 1965 by the Cerro Corporation and named in honor of the William Sieg family who were instrumental in donating this facility to the University. The property consists of 44 acres of woodland is located in the Narrows of Fishing Creek, approximately three miles east of Lamar on Route 780. There is a large main lodge equipped to serve up to 120 people and bunkhouses which will accommodate 48 people. The Center offers ideal facilities for a variety of uses such as seminars, conferences, training courses, staff meetings, outdoor class meetings, picnics and recreation. Fishing Creek is a wonderful Trophy Trout Stream, and is a member of the Big Fishing Creek Cottage Association.
Sieg is located approximately 15 miles from main campus near Lamar. It is not a hotel, but a conference center which can sleep 48 people in bunk beds.
- A spacious dining room can accommodate 120 people for meetings or dining. The kitchen can be used for on-site cooking and catering. The lobby and bar area is partially divided and great for small break-out sessions. It has a fireplace for cool evenings. There are two bunkhouses with 24 bunk beds in each for male/female overnight sleeping. Due to the rustic and relaxed atmosphere, state of the art equipment is minimal.
- What to bring: Any equipment you need for your event; bed linens or sleeping bags, pillows, toiletries, food, paper products.
- Limited and sporadic cell and internet.
- Alcohol is prohibited.
- Catering can be provided by LHU’s Aramark food provider or by a licensed catering business.
Sieg is open from the middle of March until the middle of November. Priority is given to LHU events by our students, faculty and administration. It is also reserved for University-related groups, government agencies, non-profit groups and for other educational groups.
Any fee is based on number of participants and how many days’ use.
Non-LHU groups must have liability insurance naming LHU as additional insured and also meet all requirements of the Lock Haven University Protection of Minors Policies.
