LHU HOPE Center Presents Vagina Monologues

On February 17 at 7 p.m., the Lock Haven University HOPE Center will present a one-night only benefit reading of Eve Ensler’s award winning play The Vagina Monologues at Lock Haven University in the Countdown Theatre.

WHAT: The Vagina Monologues

WHEN: Friday, February 17th, 7:00 p.m.

WHERE: Lock Haven University Countdown Theatre

WHO: Meghan Mausteller, mlm6713@lockhaven.edu

Hailed by The New York Times as "funny" and "poignant" and by the Daily News as "intelligent" and "courageous," The Vagina Monologues, which was first performed off-Broadway by Ms. Ensler, dives into the mystery, humor, pain, power, wisdom, outrage and excitement buried in women’s experiences.

This special benefit performance is presented this year as part of V-Day’s campaign ONE BILLION RISING: REVOLUTION, a global initiative that began three years ago as a call for women survivors of violence to Rise and demand an end to violence. In 2016, Risings will focus on highlighting, creating and envisioning new, brave and radical artistic initiatives to bring in the new revolutionary world of equality, dignity and freedom for all women and girls. The Lock Haven AAUW is a sponsor for the event.

Tickets for Lock Haven’s performance are being sold in advance for $5 or at the door for $8 and may be purchased at the HOPE Center in Ulmer 100 or by emailing Meghan Mausteller at mlm6713@lockhaven.edu
