LHU to host annual Business Hall of Fame luncheon and ceremony

Lock Haven University will host the annual Business Hall of Fame luncheon and ceremony from noon to 2 p.m. on Friday, March 23 in the Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center, Poorman Ballroom, on the campus of LHU.

During the ceremony, two LHU alumni will be honored who have distinguished themselves in business and in service to the university and their community. The 2018 inductees are Susan K. Myers, ’76, and Donn “The Swami” Wagner, ’66.

“The LHU Business Hall of Fame was developed by the business and accounting programs Advisory Board as a way to honor our alumni who significantly impact business and industry through their leadership, managerial success, or entrepreneurial spirit as well as recognize their distinguished service to the communities in which they reside,” said Cori Myers, Ph.D., department chair and Business Hall of Fame committee member.

The Business Hall of Fame celebration will begin on Thursday, March 22 with a panel discussion with the Hall of Fame inductees from 12:30-2 p.m. in Rogers Gymnasium. Each inductee will address questions about their view on current business issues, professional success, and career development. Following the luncheon and ceremony on March 23, there will be an unveiling of Hall of Fame awards from 2:30-3 p.m. in Akeley Hall, second floor common area.

Susan Myers consults for Corning Incorporated as an audit manager. She also serves Lock Haven University as a member of the Business and Accounting Advisory Board and as a distinguished speaker for the open lecture series. Myers graduated LHU with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and earned a Master of Business Administration at Syracuse University.

Wagner founded Alleghenies Analysis Ltd., The Victory Line hotline and web site for providing sports handicapping information in college football and basketball, professional football and basketball, hockey, baseball and horse racing. He graduated LHU with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, Penn State with an master’s degree in elementary education and minor in psychology, and West Virginia University with a master’s degree in educational administration.

“The Hall of Fame not only acknowledges professional achievement and the influence of our alumni in business and community endeavors, but provides our students with role models that may help shape and inspire their future plans and aspirations,” Cori Myers said.

Members of the public are invited to participate in the Hall of Fame events. A full itinerary of events is listed on the Business Hall of Fame website at, where tickets also can be bought for $25. The registration deadline for the induction luncheon and ceremony is Friday, March 9.
