LHU to Hold Annual Business Hall of Fame Luncheon & Ceremony

Lock Haven University is pleased to once again honor LHU alumni who have distinguished themselves in business and in service to the University and their community. LHU will honor three Business Hall of Fame members at an induction luncheon and ceremony on Friday, March 24, 2017. Members of the public are invited to participate in the Hall of Fame events. WHEN: Friday, March 24, 2017, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

WHERE: Lock Haven University, Poorman Ballroom, Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center

“The LHU Business Hall of Fame was developed by the Business and Accounting Programs Advisory Board to honor those LHU alumni who not only excel in business, but also admirably serve LHU and their community,” said Dr. Cori Myers, Department Chair and Business Hall of Fame Committee Member.

The 2017 inductees are: George B. Dintiman (’58), President and Owner of the National Association of Speed and Explosion (NASE), Michael K. Hanna (’77), who has served as the Pennsylvania State Representative of the 76th Legislative District since 1991, and Fred M. Peightal (’62), who held lead sales and marketing positions for the American Can Company and Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation (KACC).

The Business Hall of Fame celebration begins on Thursday, March 23rd with a panel discussion with the Hall of Fame inductees. The discussion will take place in the Parsons Union Building, Multi-Purpose Room 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Each Hall of Fame inductee will address questions about their view on current business issues, professional success, and career development.

The LHU Business Hall of Fame luncheon and ceremony will take place on Friday, March 24th in the Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center from noon until 2:00 p.m. Tickets for the luncheon cost $17 and may be purchased online at http://www.lhup.edu/bhof. The registration deadline for the 2017 induction luncheon and ceremony is Friday, March 10, 2017.                                   

Following the luncheon will be the unveiling of the Business Hall of Fame Awards in Akeley Hall, second floor common area. “Through the Hall of Fame, we seek to recognize successful alumni, build stronger connections between alumni and students, and highlight the profound influence that LHU alumni exert in various facets of business and community. The Hall of Famers will serve as role models and a source of inspiration for current students and graduates to achieve their professional goals,” said Myers.
