Applications available for WEDnetPA training grant program

Applications are now available for employers for the 2018-19 Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania (WEDnetPA) training grant program.

WEDnetPA provides companies in Pennsylvania with the funds needed to upgrade the skills, education, and training of their current employees.

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania created the opportunity for employers to train new and existing employees through the WEDnetPA program. Advanced technology and essential skills trainings are available to qualified in-state businesses and out-of-state companies relocating to Pennsylvania — with funding accessed through WEDnetPA and made available by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED). WEDnetPA network of partners includes State System universities, community colleges, and private institutions across the Commonwealth.

Lock Haven University has been a WEDnetPA partner since the program began in 1999. To date, LHU has provided more than $5.3 million in training funds to eligible companies. These funds have resulted in nearly 50,000 training and skill building opportunities provided to the Commonwealth’s workforce.
