Lock Haven University physician assistant program to hold 5K event

The Lock Haven University physician assistant program will hold a 5K road race and 2-mile walk on Saturday, April 27 in the Poorman Commons pavilion on campus. Registration will start at 8:30 a.m. and the race will begin at 10 a.m.

Participants will race on the Lock Haven Riverwalk. The entry fee is $15 per person and age groups include: 18 and under, 19-25, 26-40 and 41 and up. Prizes will be awarded to the overall top male and female, as well as first place male and female in each age group.

Those registered by Saturday, April 13 will receive a free race T-shirt. Proceeds will benefit the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants’ annual charity, Susquehanna Service Dogs, an organization that trains service dogs to assist adults and children with disabilities to become more independent.

Checks can be made payable to JSPASS and can be dropped off at room 227 Willis Health Professions Building or mailed to Lock Haven University, Willis Health Professions Building, 432 Railroad St. room 214, Lock Haven, PA 17745 – to the attention of Lori Beers.

Sponsors also are being sought to donate money, prizes and-or refreshments. Sponsorship levels include: Up to and including $50 — name displayed prominently on a poster at the event, $50 and over — name displayed on the back of race T-shirt.
