Lock Haven University and UPMC Susquehanna have announced a partnership that will provide important opportunities for health education to LHU students, UPMC employees and the local community.

Lock Haven University Clearfield will hold a spring open house starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 23 on the LHU Clearfield campus.

The Lock Haven University physician assistant program was the first of its kind in the Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) when it began in 1996, and has since continued to build on its reputation as a national leader for supplying underserved populations with much needed quality healthcare providers.

Over the last 15 years Lock Haven University health science students, through their work with the Youth Development Task Force (YDTF), have mentored and engaged in research with eight local school districts and one parochial school to assess, plan, implement and evaluate substance abuse prevention efforts and mental health issues.

Lock Haven University celebrated the inauguration of its 15th president, Robert Pignatello, on Friday, March 1, to a packed audience in the Thomas Fieldhouse on the campus of LHU. Students, faculty, staff, coaches, alumni, board members, trustees and community members all were in attendance.
